I work with school leaders, supporting their wellbeing, enabling them to undertake their roles confidently, developing their expertise, gaining fulfilment in their work, resulting in their organisations providing the best educational experience and outcomes for children and young people.
As a coach, mentor, consultant, and trainer, developing strong, supportive relationships underpinned by mutual trust and respect is central to what I do, as such, connection is the central core value in my approach. Next comes a focus on wellness. We all deserve to be as physically and mentally well as our genetics allows, and a focus on this ensures we can benefit ourselves and those around us. As humans, both personally and professionally, I believe in an emphasis on progress and not perfection, and devoting time and effort into our personal and professional growth is important to me. It is also important to me to continue to develop and share my expertise, as well as enabling you to develop and utilise yours. For me, this is why accredited training and a commitment to my own continued study is vital. Finally, I love using creativity both to find solutions and find new ways of doing things and for wellbeing; there is nothing more satisfying than making and designing something unique.
How can I help you?
I know from experience that school leaders face significant challenges, high levels of accountability, multiple demands, in an ever-changing landscape which can, along with a plethora of, often conflicting, advice result in feelings of overwhelm leading to stress, a reduction in effectiveness and ultimately potential burnout.
Whilst sometimes we may need some support and guidance, I believe that we as humans and leaders often have the solutions within us, and just need the space to rediscover and apply this wisdom. As a coach, I can help you in this way, I can also enable you to examine your beliefs and assumptions, to enable you to understand what may be getting in the way of your success and enabling you to move beyond these barriers. Having completed rigorous International Coaching Federation (ICF) training and achieving accreditation and certification at PCC (Professional Certified Coach) level – which puts in in a category of approximately 4% of coaches, I use proven, evidence based coaching principals, underpinned by research in the fields of positive psychology and neuroscience in my approach. As a consultant, mentor and trainer, I can share my own leadership and coaching expertise and use my experience from 20 years in school leadership, 13 of were in the position of headteacher, to guide whilst working alongside you.
